Other Continuing Education Resources

Maine is a part of Webjunction http://me.webjunction.org/do/Home which offers many library learning opportunities online.

Take a look at the statewide library calendar of events (such as the annual Reading Round-Up conference in April)  http://evanced.info/maine/evanced/eventcalendar.asp?libnum=0 which provides excellent opportunities as well.

Check out the Maine State Library for Continuing Education opportunities   http://www.maine.gov/msl/libs/ce/index.shtml

The Maine State Library also offers a Voluntary Public Library certification program http://www.maine.gov/msl/libs/ce/libcert.shtml with online webinar courses that can be used by School Library Media Specialists and Ed Techs for re-certification and re-authorization.

Consider joining the Executive Board of a professional library association such as MASL.  You'll have insight into library concerns and most will provide contact hours for attending meetings -- Contact the association you are interested in for more details.

Don't forget that if you are a member then you may qualify for financial assistance to attend conferences or take classes.

Check out our Scholarship page for more information.
