The 2017 MASL Fall Conference will be held on Saturday, October 21st at the Camden Hills Regional High School. The full day conference will focus on the newly adopted Maine Effective School Library Program Standards (SLPS), with presentations and workshops to guide attendees through understanding, self evaluating, and setting goals to develop a highly effective school Library program in Maine. The SLPS are pending endorsement by the DOE this fall. The opening session will feature Librarian Iris Eichenlaub, Knox County Teacher of the Year for 2017. Learn how Ms. Eichenlaub has transformed the CHRHS Library into a thriving, user-focused program.

Also included are sessions with Susan Ballard, former President of AASL and current online Instructor at Granite State College. Ms. Ballard will be leading two informational sessions: Pathway to School Librarian Leadership, and Libraries Transform: the Expert in the Library.

If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, you must contact by Monday, October 16th to receive a refund. Cancellations after 10/16/17 will forfeit the registration fee.

MASL's 2022 Spring Symposium "Moving Forward Together" will take place in person at Bangor High School on May 14, 2022 from 8:30 to 4. All attendees will be required to wear masks and be vaccinated.

We are thrilled to announce that we will host two virtual speakers: school librarian Nancy Jo Lambert and author Maia Kobabe. We also plan to present live sessions. Lunch and other light refreshments will be provided.

We do reserve the right to convert this conference to virtual format if COVID conditions necessitate doing so. Registration and payment must be completed online. Registration is $50 for members, $65 for non-members. Scholarships to cover registration or lodging expenses are available for MASL members. More information will be forthcoming about lodging options. 

To cancel your registration you must contact Cancellations after 4/30/22 will forfeit the registration fee.
