MASL is excited to offer a professional learning opportunity this fall to build your own Advocacy Portfolio. Our goal is to support and empower you as an advocate for a strong library program in your school. We know the economic forecast may be bleak in the coming years, and we want your decision-makers to know just how much value you add to your school’s instructional program. In an effort to help you spread the word about all the good work you do, MASL has developed a portfolio curriculum tied to the shared foundations of our AASL Standards.
“But wait! I don’t have time for one more thing!” We hear you. But this is important for the learners of Maine, and having a dedicated library staff is essential to providing those learners with a strong library program. Each month there will be prompts for items to collect, curate, and document -- most of which you may already have, such as newsletter submissions, documentation of ways you are providing services to remote learners, etc. We are not looking to add to what’s already on your plate, but rather to help you think about how to document and curate the amazing work you’re already doing.
